Devarshi is one of the top Pros at Total Tennis with over 20 years of labor in this company. "Bubbla" enjoys everyday at work and transmits those positive energies to the rest of the staff and campers. After talking to him I have found out he likes to see people improving but at the same time he wants people to have fun in the court. One interesting thing about him is that he is always wearing black long sleeve clothing even if it is 100 degrees outside. Bubbla mainly works at Total Tennis over the weekends and there is no week where he works on a Monday.
He has graduate from Rutgers University and during his college years he played varsity in the tennis team. Bubbla is in charge of all the advertisement of Total Tennis including the web page and social media. Also, he is the Tennis Pro who is in charge during the weekdays program as well as any time the director of Total Tennis, Ed, is not present. Bubbla's career goes even further since for the last two years he has started working with a foundation called Life Serve Youth Foundation which as they say "it offers the first overnight tennis camp in the United States that provides exceptional training and personal development opportunities for youth with limited financial resources. Life Serve’s 14-day transformative experience is for passionate kids, aged 12 to 17, who have a demonstrated potential for tennis. This competitive sport, a natural camp setting, well-rounded instruction, and integration into the Life Serve community are catalysts for growth" (Life Serve Youth Foundation). As you can see this is a camp which try use tennis as an opportunity for kids with very low resources to learn about discipline, hard work and a different mindset that would be beneficial for them in their life. For more info about the camp and Bubla's position and participation go to http://www.lifeservetennis.org
In this industry it is possible to achieve great things. Tennis has always been a sport that is hard to afford due to the high prices of lessons and all the expenses that requires when you play consistently (stringing, grips, shoes, raquets, balls, etc). Therefore those who invest a lot of hours working in this industry will get their time to worth a good amount of money. Other thing that comes with teaching tennis is the amount of people you get to meet and to interact with, this summer I have meet hundreds of people from all over the country and some people from out of the country that could potentially become something else that just that guy a gave a lesson once. More job opportunities, trips, partners, investors, etc. Believe or not inside of a tennis court you will find an endless amount of possibilities that could result on more than just an hour of hitting tennis balls. The wages on tennis vary a lot and they depend on you and only you, the more work the more money you make and also the more connections you make and the better the clients you get you will get more and more money.
My recommendation to those pursuing a life as a tennis pro would be to invest a lot of time in the court not only teaching but also learning more and more every day. At the end of the day you will charge as much money for an hour lesson as you want as long as you are able to provide a high quality service that clients get attracted to.
